IDI takes part at the DRS 2020 Conference in Brisbane
We will be part of the internationally renowned design research conference in Australia!
We are very happy to announce that the workshop proposal “Cross-Cultural Design – Based on a German-Chinese Collaboration in Design Education” by Prof. Marion Digel (Vice President of IDI) and Lei Zhu (Assitant Professor at IDI) has been accepted for presentation at the international Design Research Society (DRS) 2020.
The DRS biennial conference is one of the major forums to discuss and present cutting-edge design research and will be hosted by Griffith University at Brisbane (Australia) this year. Due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, the conference and all its workshops will be run virtually.
“Cross-Cultural Design – Based on a German-Chinese Collaboration in Design Education“ will focus on the following topics: China’s development as an innovation driver in relation to its Western partners, and the influence of cultural values and traditions on visual language in China and in Germany. The workshop attempts to objectify aspects of formal perception in relation to cultural archetypes in cooperation with the participating experts and academics from the wider design field.
